With over 40 years of experience in designing material recovery machinery, Stokkermill has developed a line of combined plants capable of treating photovoltaic solar panels and electronic waste (WEEE) with the same efficiency.
A plant designed for recycling solar panels can become, without compromise, an excellent system for treating WEEE.Stokkermill solutions are not the result of compromise, but of engineering research and continuous experimentation, with the aim of offering operational flexibility and high performance on different materials. This versatility allows you to maximize productivity and reduce operating costs, quickly adapting to changes in the recycling market.
In recent years, many solar panel recycling solutions have been based on mechanical dismantling or delamination processes using rollers, often inspired by Asian technologies that have been replicated in the West. Although sophisticated, these systems have proven to be inefficient, slow, and inflexible. Stokkermill has chosen a different path: simplifying to innovate. Thanks to its experience in the recycling of metals, cables, and engineering plastics, the company has developed first and second-stage delamination mills designed for fast, efficient, and low-maintenance processing.

The first-level delaminator mill removes aluminum frames, generating an oven-ready product that is practically free of impurities (glass, silicone, plastic). This type of aluminum, which is highly valued on the steel market, offers an economic advantage of 10–15% compared to materials that require further processing.
The glass, on the other hand, is separated to 100% purity thanks to a combination of mechanical, aeraulic, optical, and X-ray separation. This know-how derives directly from Stokkermill's long collaboration with the glass recycling industry.
The second-level delaminator mill is optimized for the recovery of silicon powder from the plastic fraction (EVA) and allows the concentration of precious metals, such as silver, present in the panels in small quantities (ppm). The technology developed by Stokkermill allows silicon condensation, which simplifies the subsequent metallurgical refining stages.

Even in the treatment of WEEE, Stokkermill has focused on an approach geared towards recovery value. The goal is not simply to separate inert materials from mixed materials, but to obtain pure copper and aluminum that can be easily sold on the market. This result is achieved thanks to an integrated system consisting of:
• vertical refining mills,
• densimetric table batteries,
• high-precision optical separators.
The result? High-purity materials, ready to be reintroduced into the production cycle, and a reduction in disposal costs for operators in the sector.
