The main focus of our presence in Frankfurt will be dedicated to the StokkermillSolar division, developed to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time: the sustainable recycling of end-of-life photovoltaic modules.
With the rapid expansion of solar installations throughout the 2000s, the volume of solar panels reaching the end of their operational life is now increasing exponentially. Traditional recycling methods are often slow, labour-intensive and costly, relying heavily on manual dismantling processes.
Stokkermill has redefined this approach through a fully automated recycling solution. Our system eliminates the need for the preliminary removal of aluminium frames, significantly accelerating throughput while reducing operating costs and improving overall plant efficiency.
StokkermillSolar recycling plants operate continuously, 24/7, with minimal maintenance requirements and achieve a 98.5% material recovery rate by weight of incoming photovoltaic waste. This represents one of the highest recovery performances currently available among mechanical and electromechanical solar panel recycling technologies.
Already showcased at the E-Waste Conference 2025 in Frankfurt and Ecomondo 2024 in Rimini, the technology has attracted considerable interest from recycling operators, investors and institutional stakeholders. In June, it will take centre stage at Stand J30.

The recycling process developed by Stokkermill covers every stage of the treatment chain, from automated feeding to the final separation of valuable material streams.
Through the mechanical delamination of glass and EVA layers, the system produces high-purity output fractions that meet market specifications for secondary raw materials.
Aluminium
Recovered as a clean, furnace-ready fraction compliant with End-of-Waste standards. Stokkermill was recognised by Recycling Inside magazine (September 2025) for its ability to transform photovoltaic aluminium into a product that can be directly reintroduced into foundry operations.
Glass
Separated into different particle sizes. The coarse fraction achieves very high purity levels, while the finer fraction can be reused in ceramic manufacturing and other industrial applications.
Silicon
The finest fraction contains silicon powder with traces of silver, providing significant value for further refining and material recovery processes.
Copper
Recovered from junction boxes and conductive ribbons, generating a high-quality recyclable metal fraction.
Polymers (EVA and Backsheet)
Recovered free from glass contamination and other impurities, making them suitable for use as high-calorific-value alternative fuels in energy recovery applications.
This approach maximises the value of every component within the photovoltaic module, transforming waste into high-quality secondary raw materials that support the circular economy.
Participation in E-Waste World Expo 2026 forms part of Stokkermill's ongoing international exhibition programme.
In recent years, the company has showcased its recycling technologies at:
These events are complemented by strategic collaborations with international partners, including Stokkermill México, reinforcing a global vision that combines technological innovation with environmental sustainability.
